Phoenix Instinct Wheelchair Adapters
Phoenix Instinct Adapters allow Phoenix System bags to be securely mounted to a wide range of manual wheelchairs. While several model-specific adapters are available, the Universal Adapter is the simplest and most versatile option for most users.
Designed to fit all folding wheelchairs and many rigid-frame wheelchairs without a compatible backrest bar, the Universal Adapter is made from lightweight carbon fibre and mounts beneath the seat cushion to create a secure attachment point for all Phoenix System bags. It's an excellent choice for wheelchairs with unique frame designs or where backrest-mounted adapters are not suitable.
For wheelchairs with compatible backrest bars, Phoenix also offers a range of purpose-built adapters designed to provide a clean, secure fit for specific tube shapes, diameters and wheelchair models.
Adapter Options
Universal Adapter (Under 14" & Over 14" Seat Widths)
The recommended solution for most wheelchairs. Designed for chairs without a standard round backrest bar, it fits all folding wheelchairs and many rigid-frame models, including the Kuschall K, Panthera X, Motion Composites Apex C and Aria. Constructed from lightweight carbon fibre and compatible with all Phoenix System bags. Available in two sizes to suit seat widths under or over 14 inches.
Curved Bar Adapters (19.5 mm & 22 mm)
Designed for wheelchairs with curved round backrest bars. Available in two common tube diameters to ensure a secure fit.
Low Clearance Adapters (19.5 mm, 22 mm & 25 mm)
Ideal for wheelchairs with limited clearance between the backrest upholstery and the backrest bar. The 25 mm version is specifically designed for the Quickie Nitrum.
Helium/Q7 Oval Adapter
Designed for Quickie and Sopur wheelchairs fitted with rubber push handles or an oval-section backrest bar.
Helium/Q7/Argon 2 Round Adapter
Suitable for Quickie and Sopur wheelchairs fitted with straight, round backrest tubes.
Krypton/Nitrum Adapter
Designed specifically for the Quickie Krypton and Nitrum, creating a straight mounting bar for attaching the Phoenix System Trolley and All-in-One Twinset Lite.
RGK SUB4 Adapter Kit
Developed specifically for the RGK SUB4. As every SUB4 is custom-built, this kit includes fittings for both 19 mm and 22 mm round backrest bars. A minimum of 30 mm clearance between the backrest bar and upholstery is required. If your chair has less clearance or uses a different tube diameter, the Universal Adapter is the recommended alternative.
