Managing Director, Shane Hryhorec, is an entrepreneur and passionate advocate for people with disabilities. Shane grew up in South Australia participating in many sports including football, swimming and triathlons. In 2007, Shane broke his neck and drowned in a swimming pool accident. He spent five days in a coma, his life as he knew it changed forever. Shane chose to see this as an opportunity to develop a business that could help improve equality for people with disabilities. His mission in life and in business is to educate society about inclusivity and improve accessibility. Since founding Push Mobility in 2013, Shane has expanded and grown the business to become one of the leading manual wheelchair providers in Australia.
Matt joined Push Mobility at the start of 2019 after relocating to Melbourne and is the company’s Warehouse and Freight Manager. He has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Push Mobility and values the lessons he has learnt from working with such passionate, inspiring and hardworking colleagues and clients alike. When he is not working Matt can usually be found playing golf or watching golf videos. His other hobbies include football, cycling, travelling and just hanging out with family and friends.
Mike joined Push Mobility in 2019. As our resident Wheelchair Tech, Mike’s role focuses on maintenance, servicing and technical support to create the perfect product fit for our customers – including leading our wheelchair skills training. Mike had an accident when he was 18 and is now a permanent wheelchair user. Prior to his accident he worked as a bicycle mechanic. Mike also works with children in pediatric rehabilitation. In his spare time, Mike enjoys live music events, long road trips and travelling.
Bernadette joined Push Mobility in early 2016 as our Finance and HR Manager. B has over 20 years experience advocating on behalf of people with disabilities both personally and professionally. She is the dedicated Carer for a family member with a disability and worked as a Diversity Analyst and Disability Employment Facilitator for one of the big 4 banks. B works part time and has flexibility in her hours to meet her Carer responsibilities. Bernadette enjoys pilates, yin yoga and walks around Princes Park.
Alex is the QLD State Manager for Push Mobility and is also an elite level handcyclist. He is originally from Korumburra in country Victoria and has worked at Push since 2016. Alex had a motocross accident in 2009 where he suffered a T7 complete spinal cord injury, through the process of adapting to life in a wheelchair he went on to go to university, tried all different sports, and all the types of adaptive equipment he could get his hands on but found his greatest passion to be cycling. Riding his handcycle has taken him all over the world and he continues to compete at the highest level whilst juggling his time between work, friends and family. Alex is now based on the Sunshine Coast and his favourite hobbies are spending time at the beach, travelling, cycling and watching motorcycle racing.
Dave’s lifelong passion for helping others and interest in the disability sector began when he was born with three missing fingers from his right hand. He’s since grown up and become a mentor and state ambassador for the Aussie Hands Foundation. Dave’s role as Push Mobility’s VIC Manager has been complemented by his lived experience with a hand difference. Dave educates and assists clients to select their perfect mobility solution. He aims to inspire and motivate others to live life to its full potential, despite any physical setbacks. Dave has a background in automotive / electrical trades and loves nature photography, travel, and music.
As Push Mobility’s Business Development Manager, Helen is focused on our Wheely Sanitiser brand, as well as new opportunities for Mobi matting with our sister company Mobi International. Helen has over 20 years of marketing and key account management experience, within Australia and Internationally. She enjoys bathing in nature with her dog - Loki, in her free time, that could be by the river, at the beach or in the countryside
A bubbly and enthusiastic All-Rounder, Mitch assists with stock control, packing and shipping orders and setting up equipment for demos and trials at Push. He enjoys running, investing in the stock market and making pizzas (his favourite is BBQ meat lovers, hit him up for a recipe). He’s also known for his shoe collection, and is usually seen sporting some very sweet kicks.
Simone brings her passion and enthusiasm for accessibility to her role as Marketing and Development Manager. She has 10 years of experience in communications, marketing, and management roles in the not-for-profit and arts sectors, and was the General Manager of Australia’s only disability film festival, the Other Film Festival. Simone can regularly be found at live music gigs and comedy shows or spending time with her young family.
