DESIGNED AND BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE AND DURABILITY ON ANY TERRAIN
The Bowhead RX™ integrates the Bowhead FLOW™ articulating front-end from our award-winning Bowhead Reach™ bike with the new single-pivot MX-style rear swingarm and suspension system for a nimble and agile ride.
Traversing off-cambered and rough terrain is a breeze, and the RX provides endless opportunities for access and exploration whether you’re hammering down a paved road, navigating a gravel track, flowing cross-country, or shredding single-track mountain trails.
The RX features the Bosch Performance CX eMTB motor and electronics system that provides seamless torque-sensing assistance, amplifying the power of arms by up to 3.5 times, and the electronic shifting SRAM Eagle 12-speed drivetrain.
The motor and batteries are mounted mid-bike, through a superbike MotoGP-style aluminium subframe, to create the ideal low center of gravity and roll. The RX is uniquely tuned to each riders’ thirst-for- adventure profile to provide a truly custom experience.

"The Bowhead RX is such a surprise package. The Bowhead Reach was the bike that I was first interested in and captivated by. Interestingly enough, the RX was the first bike that I actually rode as this bike arrived before my Reach.
I rode the RX and thought it was a really fun bike but had my mind focussed on the Reach still. Fast forward a few months and I have now come to realise that the RX is the bike I love the most. The thing with the RX that I love most is the involvement, it is so fun to ride and pedal with friends and be actively involved. It is a little harder bike to ride in some ways as you have to be aware of using your gears, the bike being very lively and a little more twitchy than the Reach.
When you master these things though, the bike just keeps giving back. I love the fact I can pedal and exercise, go on long rides, ride technical terrain, do jumps and other crazy things and the list goes on. I’ve had a few people that I’ve explained this to and they now have their own bikes and get it and understand it. This bike truly makes me so happy and helps to keep me fit and strong both physically as well as mentally."

Do I have to be fit to ride an RX?
A Bowhead RX does require a certain amount of fitness and strength to ride but depends on the terrain you are riding also. Technical steep singletrack is something that needs to be built up to. Flat rides on bike paths are far easier.
How is the RX powered?
The Bowhead RX uses a Bosch Performance Line CX drive unit which has varying levels of assistance to “amplify” the power and effort you are putting into it. There are varying levels of assistance that can be changed simply on the fly. The more work you put in, the more it will also give back!
What is the maximum speed the bike will give assistance to?
The bike gives assistance up to 32kmh before the assistance cuts out. It can still roll faster than this if you are going down hill as an example.
Will NDIS fund a bike & how do I go about this?
Potentially yes! We have seen many bikes funded by NDIS but each case is unique and depends on your goals as well as your plan. We can give great insight into this and help, the best thing is to call and speak with us, especially Grant from our team who has great experience with this process from start to end.
Can I take my bike with me on a plane?
Yes! We have had success travelling with the bikes and even with batteries. Batteries need to be taken on as carry on while the bike will travel with you in the hold of the plane. Generally as a wheelchair user, the bike can travel with you free of charge as your second wheelchair.
How long will the batteries last or how far can I go on a single charge?
This one depends on terrain and user weight. Users have done close to 90km and over 5 hours of riding on a single charge when using varying levels of assistance on mixed terrain. If just blasting on “Turbo” mode, you’ll likely get closer to 2 hours of riding. The battery supply is more than sufficient for you to be physically exhausted before the power runs out!
Is hire available?
No. Due to high demand for product trial, limited number of demo bikes and the high value of these bikes, we cannot offer hire.
