Professional Development & Education Day – Recap
Push Mobility Professional Development & Education Day – Melbourne Recap
During August 2025, Push Mobility hosted our latest Professional Development & Education Day across 3 days at our Melbourne, Adelaide and Sunshine Coast showrooms. The days brought together occupational therapists, physiotherapists, allied health professionals, and community partners for a full program of learning, collaboration, and hands-on product demonstrations.
Event Highlights
HOC Wheelchairs & Push Mobility Partnership
Our first session featured Steve Holub from HOC Wheelchairs alongside Grant Allen from Push Mobility. The team shared how HOC designs ultra-lightweight, high-performance titanium wheelchairs, tailored to individual measurements. They also discussed the unique partnership between HOC and Push Mobility, where innovation, creativity, and custom solutions come together to deliver world-class equipment for the Australian community.
Accessible Accommodation
Next, we welcomed Kerry from Accessible Accommodation, who gave an overview of their accessible travel platform featuring over 300 verified locations across Australia, New Zealand, and Bali. From hotels and holiday homes to houseboats and glamping cabins, all properties undergo a stringent verification process by people with lived experience of disability. Kerry also shared practical travel planning tips and the importance of authentic imagery and video tours to reduce anxiety and provide peace of mind.
Wheel Around the World – Inclusive Beaches
We then heard from Shane Hryhorec, founder of Wheel Around the World. Shane highlighted the development of Australia’s first fully staffed accessible beach in Frankston, VIC. With multiple beach wheelchairs, walkers, accessible bathrooms, and trained staff, the project ensures that people with disability can safely and independently enjoy the water. This model is set to be replicated in other locations across Australia.
Stricker Mobility Solutions
Finally, we welcomed Phillip from Stricker, who presented innovative power-assist and mobility solutions that integrate seamlessly with manual wheelchairs. These solutions are helping people extend their independence, mobility, and access to more active lifestyles.
Certificates, Resources & Feedback
Every attendee received a certificate of attendance, and we shared both the full presentation PDF and links to additional resources, including:
We are grateful for the positive feedback already received, and we encourage participants to share their thoughts through our feedback survey. This helps us continue improving and shaping future events.
