The Limb Difference gripping aid is designed for users who have a limb difference affecting their hands or fingers. This may include those with dysmelia (conditions from birth), or those who have sustained a limb difference through amputation, injury or illness later in life.
The Active Hands Limb Difference gripping aid is perfect for those who have some or all of their fingers, or parts of their hand, missing. If you have some widening at your wrist, the Limb Difference aid should work for you (A wider section of the wrist is required as an anchor point to transfer the pulling force to, when using the gripping aids).
The Limb difference aid can be used for a wide variety of activities such as accessing equipment in the gym, kitchen or garden, holding the handlebars of a bike or for rowing or kayaking. They are strong enough to be used for weight lifting.

Sure can. This product is classified as a consumable like that of a wheelchair tyre. If you are self managed, simply purchase the item online and claim back the purchase in your MyGov portal. Our wrist size guide will give you the best fit for your wrist but there is some overlap in the sizing. The hand straps do increase in length as the wrist size increases, so if you have a small hand part then you may wish to try a smaller size.
